FORMATION

Inspired by the LGBTQ+ community, Formation investigates the expression of the human body. A part of the LGBTQ+ community is a dance culture called Voguing. To vogue is to use geometric and organic styles to express oneself through corresponding music. I took this a step further and with the help of K. Logan we explored how the body can contort and stretch. Logan pushed her body to formulate shapes parallel to inanimate objects. A love for fashion, extreme makeovers, and vibrant colors are how we appreciated the way the LGBTQ+ community expressed themselves.
